This Same Jesus
(4) “Jesus” - for Complete Deliverance
When Jesus comes again not everyone will rejoice. Revelation 1:7 says: “Behold, he cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see him, and they also which pierced him: and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him. Even so, Amen.”
They will wail on discovering that His Word, which they ridiculed and rejected, is true after all. No wonder the angels spoke as they did to the apostles as Jesus ascended into heaven.1
We are living in dark times; but we must not sit helplessly in them. Have you not read? - “Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the Lord is risen upon thee. For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people: but the Lord shall arise upon thee, and his glory shall be seen upon thee.”2 Therefore, -
“Inaction away! Begone all delay!
The season of conflict is come,
The summons is given,
The Lord calls from heav’n,
Let no man now tarry at home.”3
May this summons to faithful service deliver you completely from all despondency. Moreover, may this same Jesus keep each and every one, who names Him as Saviour, in active, lifelong service, to the glory of His name and for the extension of His kingdom, which must and, let it be known, will prevail.
